On Friday, we drove down to Syracuse and Noto. We tried
to get into Syracuse, but the traffic was unbearable and we ended up in a jam
and couldn’t find a parking spot. We finally gave up and “got out of town” and
headed to Noto. Noto turned out to be a real gem. It was a beautiful town up in
the mountains, with many buildings of Baroque architecture. We had lunch and
came home to our apartment. On the way back, we got a magnificent view of Mt
Etna, which we are visiting on Monday.
