TUESDAY Feb 3rd – Wine

Sicily is known for some excellent wines. This is due to the volcanic soil from Mt Etna, which is perfect for growing grape vines. The wine is also very inexpensive. You can get a glass of very good house wine for 2-3 Euros in a restaurant, and there are wine shops that sell “local wine” by the bottle. We have one right across the street from our apartment.  They sell a litre of very good house wine for 2.50 Euros (about $3.25 CDN).  We will also be trying some of the vintage wine, which you can get for 10-15 Euros.
