Tonight, we booked a special Valentines dinner at Restorante i Crociferi. We all dressed up in our Sunday best, with Bryan and I sporting pink bow ties. The restaurant had a fixed price menu for 22 Euros, which included anti-pasta, a pasta course, a main course, desert and water and wine. The food was fantastic and it took over 3 hours to eat it all – it just kept coming. However, we did have one surprise at the end. The bill came in at 218 Euros, which was a shocker. Apparently, the fixed price menu didn’t apply on Valentine’s Day, but our waiter never told us that (probably because he didn’t speak any English) but still took our order off the fix price menu. After a lengthy discussion in Italian with the owner, he agreed to only charge us 103 Euros (4X the fixed price menu + an extra bottle of wine). We went home stuffed and happy!
